In Memoriam
Margaret
was born in the 1920s, a
fisherman's daughter, and
she lived for a great part
of her life in the fishing
village of Cockenzie, East
Lothian, Scotland.
She married Peter in 1942
and they had one son. Peter
was a lorry driver and
Margaret saved enough money
to rent a shop in
Musselburgh, then purchased
a shop in Joppa to finally a
hotel in Murrayfield Avenue,
Edinburgh and the family
moved there in the early
1960s.
Peter passed away in 1983
and Margaret retired to
Cockenzie and lived on her
own. She enjoyed many
holidays abroad with her
friends before moving in
beside her son, Richard, in
2002. Margaret, now in her
80s, enjoyed a good life in
the countryside with her
dogs, Honey and Tasha, and in her
90s she was cared for at
home by her son. In 2016,
she suffered a stroke at the
ripe old age of 94 and
passed away.
As per her wishes, her
funeral was private and she
was buried beside her
husband, Peter, in
Prestonpans cemetery.
